A Special Holiday Partnership – Giving the Gift of Freedom

This Thanksgiving season, as the air cools and our focus turns toward Christmas, I’ve found myself reflecting on the work with which we’re entrusted. Small businesses are building teams, growing dreams, and caring deeply for the people inside their walls. And behind every hire, there's always a story—a family strengthened, a leader supported, a company moving toward its future. But this year, another story has gripped my heart, and I want to share it with you.

It begins in the brick kilns of Pakistan, where an estimated one million Christians have been trapped in generational slavery. Children, parents, and grandparents labor day after day under debts they can never repay. Many of the teenagers and young adults growing up in these camps have never stepped inside a school, never earned a fair wage, and never been given permission to dream. They endure every horror you imagine when you hear the word “slavery.”

But something beautiful is happening.
Hope is rising through the work of Families Set Free.

A Ministry Bringing Freedom, Restoration, and Hope

Families Set Free is a ministry dedicated to rescuing families from brick-kiln slavery and walking alongside them as they rebuild their lives. Their work isn’t just compassionate, it’s transformational.

Here’s what they make possible:

  • Families are rescued from the kilns and their debts are paid

  • They are relocated to safe housing

  • Parents begin earning income through a micro-business that allows them to support their families

  • Children are enrolled in school for the very first time

  • And young adults—many who’ve known nothing but bondage—enter vocational training programs so they can learn trades that offer dignity, stability, and a future

The results are nothing short of incredible.

A family of five can be freed for $400. For $2,000, that same family receives everything they need—housing, a micro-business, education, and the long-term supports necessary to build a future filled with security and possibility.

If you’d like to see their work firsthand, I encourage you to visit their website. It’s worth your time. Truly.

Why This Matters to Us at Team Builder Recruiting

At TBR, we’ve always believed that work is more than a paycheck. Work shapes dignity. Work shapes identity. Work shapes families for generations. And when we learned that thousands of young Christians were being freed from slavery but needed training, skills, and support to build sustainable careers, something in our hearts said: This is where we can help.

Their vocational training programs run 6–12 months and include trades such as:

  • Electrical

  • Welding

  • Plumbing

  • Carpentry

  • Sewing

  • Beautician skills

Many of these students have never had a single day of formal education, yet every lesson, every skill, every tool placed in their hands opens a door into a future that once felt impossible. And when they graduate, they don’t just earn a living wage, they break generational cycles of bondage and rewrite the story for their children and grandchildren.

That’s the kind of work that resonates deeply within us, and it reflects the heart of the Gospel—freedom, restoration, and hope.

Our Commitment: One Search = One Month of Vocational Training

From now through December 31, for every search launched with Team Builder Recruiting, we will sponsor one month of vocational training for a teen or young adult rescued from slavery. Your partnership—your search, your hire, your trust in our team—will directly impact a young person set free.

One search. One month of training. One step toward a brand-new future. And as Scripture reminds us, “To whom much is given, much will be required.” This is one way we feel called to steward the blessings entrusted to us this Christmas season—by offering young people the opportunity to build a life rooted in dignity, freedom, and hope.

I’d Love for You to Explore Families Set Free

Our heart in sharing this is simple: not to draw attention to us but to shine a light on the extraordinary work this ministry is doing. If you feel led, I’d love for you to explore their website, watch their video The Cost of Freedom, and read the stories of families who have been rescued. It will move you.

And if you have any questions, want to talk about this partnership, or are ready to launch a search before December 31, I’d be honored to connect.

All that to say—thank you. Thank you for letting our team serve yours. Thank you for building strong workplaces. And thank you for being part of work that reaches far beyond Lancaster County.

Happy Thanksgiving!
